Bore on
Eagles' wings!
Today
I recall how the Lord delivered the people of Israel from their captive, the
Egyptians, in an unusual manner of deliverance.
That's not
what I'm trying to pass across! In the book of Exodus 19:4;the Lord
specifically brought to the remembrance of His people, the Abraham seeds, how
He deliberately bore them on Eagles' wings and deliver them to Himself.
It reads: "You
have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and
brought you to Myself".
God bearing
millions of people on Eagles' wings! What an awesome experience! :)
But that's
not the point yet. I want to share how we, the seed of Abraham, redeemed of the
Lord too can continue to wallow in the victory we've been handed over by God
through His Son Jesus Christ (i.e. the Lord Who single-handedly bore millions
of the Moses' generation on Eagles' wings desires we too have similar
experience).
As it is
being said "there's no one without
an obligation". God also by "commission" has been saddling
Himself with our needs and He's still doing that, which He has never vowed to
quit! Hallelujah.
But what are
the things we need do so that our dear aspirations, dreams, goals, ambitions,
desires and future will be delivered into our hands? Here I still recall what
the bible says concerning we adding to our faith some fundamental qualities
that we make us who the Lord dream us being. It was recorded in the book of second
Peter chapter One precisely from verse five;
II Peter 1:5-9:"For
this very reason make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and
virtue with knowledge and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with
steadfastness and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly
affection, and brother affection love. For if these things are your and abound,
they will keep from ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
For whoever
lacks these things is blind and short-sighted and has forgotten that he/she was
cleansed from his old sin."
I will like dwell on one
of the major additions we were commanded to add to our faith, Virtues.
Everyone in
life desires and by God's programme deserves success, but it is not ready to come
on the platter of gold!
Being or
becoming what and whom God design of to be, our call to duty and personal
development must be obeyed.
Sacrifices
and prices in obedience are attached to every greatness.
These are
some of the helpful things in making us mount and soar on eagles' wings:
1. Discover where you are meant to be fitted
to in life.
"Destiny
is all about discovery" someone said. Apostle Paul said:...I don't run like one without aim, I am not
fighting like someone beating the air". Because he had discovered his
path of purpose
No one gets
to his destination without proper direction to the place. Therefore, locate the
path of yours in life, get on board and keep travelling.
2. Acquire a skill(s).
For
success to come in life, skill acquisition can't be done with. Gone are those
days when men/women do without any skill. Our generation can no more do without
skilful men and women! Therefore be a part. Acquire skill(s) that falls in line
with your passion.
3. Be diligent in your field.
Proverbs
22:29 says: Do you see a man/woman skilful in his/her business, he/she will
stand before kings (men of great repute) and not before mere men(men of not
value or reputation).
In that
skill(s) you've acquired, be diligent in it. Develop your strength to being
that of a diligent mind.
4. Be determined.
No
one succeed in life without determination. Daniel 1:8;"But Daniel purposed
(determined) in his heart..." To
succeed in your area of calling, you got to make up your mind to succeed. Success
is not by accident neither is it by luck, it is by determination. Be determined
to succeed regardless of what your peers say. Be determined to go beyond even
if everyone opposes you. Be determined to pursue your dreams even if all you
can imagine is darkness. Be determined to succeed even if no one pays your
attention.
Be determined
to succeed so that you could be a determinant someday.
5. Carry God Along.
King
David wrote:"I lift up my eyes unto the hills-where does my help come from? My help
comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth". Psalm 121:1-2.
In all that you do,never leave God aside for He sees what you cannot see. He
has the hand to make strong your hand;He has the shoulder to carry you so that
you can see farther. Rely on His Name and strength. He will surely do whatever
He has promised you.
Remember:
God has given us ALL that pertains to life and godliness, therefore success is
not an option, but a PROMISE from the father.
Shalom.
